Tell us whether the project involves an interior door, exterior door or an existing door that needs adjustment. A replacement slab and a prehung unit involve different work. Include the frame, threshold, hinges and surrounding trim in your photos.
Window replacement requests
Photograph the window from inside and outside and send its approximate dimensions. If you have selected a product, include its specifications. The existing frame, opening condition, exterior access and sealing details affect feasibility and price.
Confirm the opening before ordering
An approximate measurement is useful for the first conversation but should not be treated as a verified ordering dimension. Confirm the unit size, handing where applicable, frame depth and installation approach before buying a replacement.
What the quote should cover
Removal, installation, trim, sealing, finishing and disposal should be specified rather than assumed. Materials are not included unless the quote says so. Rot or other damage uncovered around the opening may require additional work.
