Exterior Painting in Chicago Suburbs
Exterior paint work starts with the condition of the surface. We handle exterior painting projects in Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs and North Shore, including doors, trim, posts and siding where the material, condition and access are suitable.
Painting and preparation
Send photos of peeling areas, joints and exposed wood as well as the whole surface. Cleaning, removal of loose paint, sanding, priming and caulking are assessed for the specific project. The quote should identify which preparation and repairs are included.
Soft or damaged wood needs attention first
Paint does not repair rotten wood. If a door frame, trim board or porch component is soft or damaged, that area needs assessment before finishing. Additional carpentry and hidden damage can change the scope.
Weather and access affect scheduling
Exterior coatings need suitable temperature, moisture conditions and drying time. The schedule depends on the selected product and weather. Include the approximate height and photos showing access from the ground when requesting a quote.
Send the right details
Tell us what the surface is made of, its approximate size, the current finish and the color change you have in mind. For a door, photograph both the door and frame. For siding or trim, include wider views of the work area.
Questions about exterior painting
Do decks and fences need exterior paint?
Not necessarily. Depending on the wood and existing coating, stain may be a better option. See the deck repair and fence staining pages for those projects.
Are wood repairs included automatically?
No. Repair areas and materials need to be identified in the agreed scope; hidden damage may require a revised estimate.
